Lupia Wins President's Award
The University of Michigan has announced Skip Lupia as winner of the 2017 President's Award for Public Impact. The award honors individuals who have offered their academic research and expertise in tangible service of a major public sector challenge, at the scale of the community, state, nation or world. Award recipients have combatted such threats in direct response to immediate and pressing issues in cooperation with other actors, both governmental and non-governmental.
U-M President Mark Schlissel stated,"Professor Lupia's work to enhance understanding of political information and scientific findings is exemplified by his use of research to help resolve the civil war in Colombia."
Skip Lupia is Hal R. Varian Collegiate Professor. His topics of expertise include information processing, persuasion, strategic communication, and civic competence.
