Understanding Decision Making in High Stakes Environments
My pathway focuses on understanding how people and organizations make decisions in complex, high stakes environments. I am interested in the intersection of organizational strategy, psychology, and law, and in using research and analytical thinking to improve outcomes for individuals navigating challenging circumstances. Through experiences in family law, health related research, public service, and leadership, I explore how institutions can balance careful decision making with compassion and person centered support. I hope to build a career that applies organizational and psychological perspectives to legal systems, specifically helping healthcare organizations and individuals make more effective decisions while creating meaningful, direct impact for the people they serve.

Elina is a rising senior at the University of Michigan studying Organizational Studies and Psychology, with a minor in Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences. She is interested in decision making, organizational dynamics, and using research to better understand how people and institutions navigate complex challenges. She is excited to contribute to the OSLC and continue supporting the Organizational Studies community.
