Leveraging policy and media’s influence on culture to promote positive social and organizational change.
American culture has long been of interest to me, especially when considering the many dimensions that shape this important force. In focusing on policy alongside the media and marketing sphere, I plan to analyze their influence on culture throughout history—synthesizing my History of Art minor—and their impacts today. In turn, my insights will be utilized to focus on leveraging the relationships between politics, media, and culture to promote profound positive change. I will consistently consider these factors through an additional lens of corporate social responsibility in diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts & environmental concerns, and by studying these complex intersections I hope to better understand the intricate dynamics between them. My coursework will include numerous fields of study, from OS to Linguistics, Communications, Political Science, and more—allowing me the opportunity to examine issues in the world around me through a multidisciplinary, well-informed lens. After my undergraduate studies are complete, I aspire to encourage and create progress through studying and practicing law, with additional interests in the marketing, consulting, and nonprofit management sectors.
