Leveraging Data Analysis and Behavioral Psychology To Promote Sustainable Financial Decision-Making
The idea of choice architecture has always captivated me. It’s a basic principle of behavioral economics stating that the presentation and availability of choices impact decision-making. It can help encourage good choices in individuals and groups with more experience, information, or feedback. I’d like to put my knowledge and skills to work in sustainable finance, where environmental, social, and governance considerations are taken into account when making investment decisions to help lead to sustainable economic activities and projects. The world changes day by day with little decisions that accumulate to big changes that come from industries making responsible choices. The heart of these decisions comes from understanding the individuals making up an organization, and which individuals can effectively lead everyone else and create optimal business outcomes.
In the OS program, I intend to learn more about how to utilize technical skills such as data analysis and my background in economic theory in a framework that presents that information as a persuasive strategy. Presenting financial analysis in an environment that encourages balancing diverse perspectives and effective communication within a team is a key skill in decision-making. Learning to be open to how each individual thinks differently and understanding how it can lead to great visions or approaches that benefit our world is critical. With this focus on choice and community, I hope to spark positive organizational and financial change in leading industries.
