Using Organizational Psychology to Problem-Solve Within Corporations
At the foundation of any organization lies the interactions between the people who work there. These interactions are shaped by human behavior, and I’m interested in exploring how this knowledge of human behavior can be harnessed to help a company function in the best and smoothest way possible. I’m also interested in using what we know about human behavior to problem-solve issues that might be embedded deeply in a company’s culture, whether that be DEI or Human Resources related. Specifically, the healthcare field is one that is fraught with inequality and potentially unethical practices. Through Organizational Studies, as well as my major in Psychology, I’m interested in exploring how we can use what we know about human behavior to inform decisions within healthcare, especially in terms of how to best balance profitability with ethical patient care.
