Positive Organizational Outcomes Through Effective Decision Making, Human Capital, and Leadership
I grew up a sports fanatic. I loved to win and watch the teams I supported win. It wasn’t just the wins & losses though, I was really interested in the dynamics and mechanics of the team. The different coaching styles, how players responded, and how they interacted with each other. The why and how is what intrigued me. What made that organization successful? Why did we lose that game? What types of players and coaches make a championship team? How did a losing team one season turn champions the next? This obsession, passion for sports and organizations within them, have inspired me to approach my Organizational Studies journey with a similar outlook. In a broader sense from sports, I seek to focus my academics on a universal connection of understanding people and organizations, the decisions they make, and behaviors they display. Organizational Studies will allow me to deep dive into the intricacies of Decision Making and Human Capital. Combined with my double major in Psychology, I have the opportunity to hone in on these aspects of organizations in order to apply them into the workplace.
