Exploring Mental Health Interventions by Understanding the Intersection of Psychology, Education, and Organizations
The national mental health crisis that has sparked as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic has motivated me to further explore how large-scale psychological corporations can combine their business and psychological skills to improve mental health interventions. Double majoring in Psychology and Organizational Studies will allow me to pursue both of my passions, building a knowledge base that can help me effectively understand how these two areas intersect. Through the OS program, I plan on exploring educational and organizational psychology in order to help both clinical and educational psychology corporations improve their mental health interventions. With such a large portion of society being impacted by mental health, mental health interventions have the power to greatly impact and improve individuals’ lives.
Whether it is making mental health interventions more accessible nationwide or improving interventions to better reflect today's problems, there are many avenues we can take to make positive mental health changes. Through a multi-faceted curriculum in OS, I will gain various perspectives and backgrounds that will help me effectively invoke positive changes in the future. I have always been inspired to help others on an emotional level, combining my passions for psychology and interpersonal relationships. Additionally, I have always been passionate about the educational field. Exploring both of these passions, with a focus on mental health, will prepare me for my future goals: invoking change through mental health interventions in the educational and organizational world.
