Examining the Human Capital Potentials of Organizations and How to Utilize Leadership to Achieve that Potential
Through my OS pathway, I hope to understand what human capital management and leadership entail and how to exercise leadership to optimize workplace potential. Having founded and worked as chief of communications for a startup, I am particularly interested in how to maximize human capital within smaller organizations like startups. By understanding the various factors that go into human capital management, I hope that I can then scale my impact by working on case studies of larger organizations. Alongside my Organizational Studies major, I am also heavily invested in The Michigan Daily right now as well as a couple of other student publications in the past. These involvements gave me insight into how groups operate, and having worked many different roles among these organizations, I’m well-versed in the interpersonal dynamics of editor-reporter, photographer-reporter, editor-school, and other relationships and would like to bring these insights into the human capital and leadership discussion. I firmly believe that my pathway will help me understand how groups interact within oneself and with another, while also equipping me with the skills to fulfill leadership roles in such groups.
