The Intersection of Business and Law
Since I was young, I have always been inspired by Ruth Bader Ginsburg: RBG’s power in the law sector and her consistent advocating for equality challenged me to pursue a future that was similar in any way, shape, or form. Since then, I have become a part of several social justice movements and changed my own morals in order to be a little bit more like RBG. Now, as an Organizational Studies student here at Michigan, I feel it is only right for my pathway to focus on business and law: two areas where women have been historically oppressed and which are now being paved in order to include women for the future generations.
I am particularly interested in the intersection of law and business: how the law affects, works with, and changes businesses’ operations, opportunities, marketing, organization, and more. The law has an incredibly profound impact on the way businesses operate in our society, and the Organizational Studies classes will help me understand how so. Specifically, I would like to research how we use marketing to enhance or advocate for parts of the law, and how the law could be used as a marketing tool to change the lives of many people or change a certain issue at hand.
