Crowdsourcing and External Contributions
I believe strongly that, over the next quarter century, we will see a drastic increase in novel crowdsourcing and open-source processes that will widen the accessible workforce beyond borders. When designing organizations that are accepting of external contributions, I submit that more individuals from around the world will have the opportunity to contribute to the world's greatest challenges – something that only a select few can participate in currently. In theory, I am interested in studying how local Antiguan weavers can contribute to the development of autonomous vehicles in Minneapolis, and how goat farmers in Amsterdam can contribute to SpaceX’s efforts to land on Mars. Through my pathway, I intend to study technological innovation, management and organization skills, and organizational rigidity.
