Advancing Positive Impact Organizations’ Advocacy through the Power of Data and Persuasive Language
As an organization, there is true power in being able to effectively advocate for one’s mission, culture, goals, and values. There is even more power in being able to then transform this communication into real action. For nonprofits, the effectiveness of advocacy can make or break funding, while for public institutions, the transparency of action and ability to follow through on commitments can determine their people’s support.
Through my Organizational Studies degree, I am interested in studying how positive impact organizations advocate for themselves and communicate their goals, as well as how and why they inadequately or dishonestly portray their efforts, either consciously or subconsciously. I strive to then apply this knowledge and my minor in Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences to learn how the integration of data analysis and visualization, as well as persuasive language tactics, can remold the reputations of organizations and revolutionize their impacts.
