Demetri L. Morgan, Ph.D., (he/him) is an Associate Professor of Higher Education at Loyola University Chicago. His research and teaching focus on the role of higher education in a diverse democracy, investigating how people successfully navigate and transform complex sociopolitical systems embedded within educational institutions. Specifically, Dr. Morgan's lines of inquiry include exploring: the cultivation of student political engagement, the role of culturally sustaining governance for institutional transformation, and effective organizational approaches to STEM education. He has published empirical and theoretical studies to advance this research agenda in a range of respected academic journals, co-edited a book on student activism, and secured over $5 million in external grants. A frequent media contributor and public speaker, Dr. Morgan has earned recognition as a past-fellow of the Place-Based Justice Network and as an Emerging Scholar by ACPA College Educators International.
