About
Denisa Glacová (she/her) is pursuing her PhD in the Department of Middle East Studies and the Frankel Center for Judaic Studies. Denisa’s scholarship spans multiple languages and various regions – Central Europe, Eastern Europe, and Mandate Palestine. Her research interests have centered around modern Jewish identities and literatures, focusing on Jewish multilingual writing during the first half of the 20th century. Her interdisciplinary approach incorporates critical perspectives on literature, history, and cultural studies, allowing her to delve deeply into the complex intersections of Jewish languages, identities, and experiences. Her research has been published in Absinthe: World Literature in Translation: Translating Jewish Multilingualism, The Bibliographical Dictionary of Czech Lands, and the Encyclopaedia of Migration.
Denisa is also interested in museum studies. She is a fellow in the Museum Studies Certificate Program at the University of Michigan and she has a long experience working in the educational teams of the Jewish Museum in Prague, Yad Vashem, and ANU - Museum of the Jewish People in Tel Aviv.
