About
Sosy is a graduate of Karen Jeppe Armenian College in Aleppo and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Art and Humanities from Aleppo State University. She further pursued her studies and obtained a certificate in Armenian Studies from the Hamazkayin Institute.Sosy began her career as a Western Armenian language teacher at Aleppo Azkayin Haigazian School and later at Karen Jeppe Armenian College. She then moved to Armenia, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Pedagogy with a specialization in ‘’Armenian Language and Literature’’ from the Armenian State Pedagogical University under Khachadour Abovian. After completing her studies, Sosy worked as a linguist in the Western Armenian Department of the Hrachia Ajaryan Language Institute, which is part of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia. She also served as a Western Armenian teacher at the Saturday Siamanto school under the National Prelacy of North America. In addition to her teaching and linguistic roles, Sosy is the founder and tutor of Western Armenian online courses. She has also participated in professional development workshops and webinars such as ‘’ Engaging Easy Apps to Enhance Language Learning’’ and obtained a certificate of participation in the ‘’Genre Pedagogies in the World Language Classroom’’ webinar. Currently, Sosy holds the position of Western Armenian lecturer in the Department of Middle East Studies at the University of Michigan. Alongside her teaching responsibilities, she is an Academic Program Developer, involved in shaping and enhancing academic programs related to her field of expertise. Furthermore, Sosy has future plans to write an Armenian textbook, demonstrating her commitment to educational development and the preservation of the Armenian language.
