Current research interests:
The reception and adaptation of Syro-Mesopotamian culture by the Hittites.
Current projects:
I have recently completed an edition of the tablets and fragments (in three languages) of the Epic of Gilgamesh recovered from the site of the Hittite capital Hattusa. Next I will consider the milieu and practices of the Hittite royal court and compare these with those of other cultures of the ancient Middle East.
Teaching interests:
Akkadian and Hittite languages; history and culture of the ancient Middle East.
