Current research interests:
My current research interests are focused on Armenian literature, culture, history, language, the Armenian Church, printing, and translations in the past millennium in Cilicia and in Ottoman, Safavi, Russian and Soviet contexts.
Current projects:
A number of translations: Grigor Daranaghtsi’s Chronicle (17th century); Eremia Komurjian’s Annals (17th century) and his adaptation in Ottoman Turkish of Movses Khorenatsi’s History. A history of the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople. A social, cultural and political history of the Western Armenians (11th-20th centuries). Two surveys: Armenian apocalyptic literature in the late medieval and early modern era; and 17th – 18th century Armenian literature. Three articles on various aspects of Armenian identity, and political and social history.
