FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION: U.S. versus The Middle East Racially and religiously offensive material is protected in the US. But in many western countries speech that incites racial hatred is illegal. Is it right to value the liberty of the speaker higher than the dignity of the receiver, and the risk of violent protest?
