A Series on Books + Ideas
The Author’s Forum is a collaboration between the Institute for the Humanities, the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, and MLibrary. Since its beginnings in 2009 (it was initially a collaboration between the Institute for the Humanities, MLibrary, the Great Lakes Literary Arts Center, and the Ann Arbor Book Festival) the Author’s Forum has been imagined as a periodic retreat for readers who love fine writing and the thoughts and conversations they inspire.
Today, the Author’s Forum pairs U-M faculty authors of recently published books with another U-M faculty member in a related field. The event is organized as an informal interview between faculty with related but not overlapping interests to facilitate engagement with a broad range of people. The Author’s Forum is open to the public, with students, faculty, and members of the greater Ann Arbor community often in attendance.
