About
Yuan Fang transferred from Northeastern University and is a first-generation senior in philosophy and classical studies. Born and partly raised in Kunming, she went to Chinese public schools and an IB high school in Shanghai before coming to colleges in America.
Yuan launched an original series on public philosophy for the Michigan Philosophy Club in 2022 fall. She boldly renamed it as the RePhilosophy club. Their most exciting discussions include the criminalization of pornography, the current ambiguity between autocracy and democracy, and Pablo Piccaso’s gaze on African souls.
Yuan enjoys playing chamber music and is learning jazz improvisation. Besides music, she can read Attic Ancient Greek and German.
