Luna Alkassem is a Syrian-American fourth-year student majoring in Communications and Media. With experience as a Research Assistant at the Center for Middle Eastern and North African Studies (CMENAS) and currently serving as a Public Humanities Intern, she has developed a passion for communication studies and interdisciplinary research. Luna is currently applying to graduate programs to further specialize in communication studies, with the goal of integrating her work in academia and the marketing industry. When she's not immersed in her academic work, you can find her savoring coffee at the UMMA café, strolling through campus, and indulging her passion for traveling abroad every summer to Cairo, Egypt, and Istanbul, Turkey, where she enjoys visiting friends, family and exploring new places
