About
Sheila coordinates a variety of activities related to History’s curriculum planning, including but not limited to, planning, scheduling, and maintaining the department’s time schedule. She works closely with the Associate Chair on curriculum planning, and assists the Department Administrator with hiring visiting faculty. She also assists faculty with creating new courses and revising existing ones. In addition, Sheila administers the History Honors Program, supports the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Studies, and receives and processes 195 applications.
Sheila started her career at the University of Michigan in the Program in Linguistics in 1988. Moving to the Medical School in 1994, she quickly found that central campus was the place to be and began working in the Department of History in 1996 working with graduate students. Now in her current position as Curriculum Coordinator since 2006, she finds working mainly with faculty just as enjoyable.
