Bio: Hi y'all! My name is Marissa, and I am a rising senior majoring in German and BCN with minors in Computer Science and Statistics. I'm a proud Detroiter, so if you'd like recommendations for things to do and places to see, I'd be more than happy to provide them. I'm a member of BUPA and BSU, so please let me know if you're interested in those organizations or would like to discuss campus involvement. I also love the Premier League, medical dramas, singing, and generally nerdy things, so feel free to talk to me about these topics too!
My love for German was initially complicated and unintended. To my surprise and slight horror, I was placed in a 4-year German language class instead of Spanish during high school. Over time, I grew to truly appreciate and enjoy the language, and after being admitted to U of M, I figured it wouldn't hurt to take a few more German classes. Fast forward to the present, I have enjoyed taking a myriad of fascinating German classes, living in the Max Kade German Residence Program for one year, connecting with the RC German community, getting to know numerous German faculty members, and even spending a month in Freiburg at the Goethe Institut.
