PhD Candidate Andrea Rottmann will participate in the Institute for Research on Women & Gender (IRWG) Community of Scholars Symposium on Friday, October 5, 2018. Rottmann will present her paper, "A butch behind bars. The prison as a site of queer worldmaking in 1960s West Berlin," during the "Taking Up Space" panel from 1:00-2:50pm.

The Community of Scholars program supports Rackham graduate students who are engaged in scholarly research or other creative projects focusing on women, gender or sexuality. Rottmann and all awardees participate in a weekly seminar during May and June, and continue their research during July and August. Awardees present their work at a public symposium in the Fall semester.
