Professor Silke Weineck wrote and co-produced (with Aaron Schillinger and Stefan Szymanski) Detroit's Olympic Uprising, a documentary about Detroit's 1963 bid for the 1968 Olympics. The film focuses in on a particularly exciting and wrought chapter of the city: "It is 1963, Detroit is bidding to host the Olympic Games and a new energy is sweeping through the Detroit Civil Rights Movement. This is the story of their collision.”

The film has already attracted major news coverage on NPR, Fox2 Detroit, and the Detroit Free Press. On Saturday, August 3 at 2p.m., the film will have its TV premiere on Fox2 Detroit. The Photo shows the three film producers.
