The Department of Economics is proud to announce that three of our professors have been awarded new faculty honors! Each of these new titles was approved by the Board of Regents and has already taken effect.
Professor Kathryn Dominguez has been recognized with a Distinguished University Professorship, one of the university’s highest honors. This award recognizes her influence on international monetary policy as well as decades of service for both Economics and the Ford School of Public Policy. Her new title is the Marina von Neumann Whitman Distinguished University Professor of Public Policy. More information can be found here.
Professor Paul Rhode has been recognized with a Collegiate Professorship. This new professorship acknowledges not only his record as one of the preeminent economic historians of his generation but also his experience as a successful teacher and mentor. His new title is the William James Adams Collegiate Professor of Economics, named after his recently retired colleague Jim Adams.
Professor Basit Zafar has been recognized with the Reuben Kempf Professorship in Economics, which is awarded to a distinguished faculty member whose research deals with money, banking, or business. His work deals with labor economics, and he is noted for his advocacy for the use of information experiments in surveys, as well as his willing service as an educator and department administrator.
Congratulations to Professors Dominguez, Rhode, and Zafar! We are lucky to have you in our department!
