Matthew Boulton is one of the three recipients of this year’s President’s Award for Leadership in International Education, whose work has strengthened global education opportunities for students. He will be honored in the Distinguished Service category.

Boulton has made great advancements towards the field of global health, founding the Office of Global Public Health in 2014. Under his leadership, the Office of Global Public Health has provided financial awards to over 350 master's students completing inmersive internships in over 75 countries. In his 33 years at U-M, Boulton has mentored countless students and international visiting scholars.     

The awarding ceremony will take place on September 25, 2026, from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Rogel Ballroom at the Michigan Union. RSVPs will be required, and a livestream option will also be available.
