Student Travel and Research Funding

The Center for Armenian Studies (CAS) provides funding to support U-M undergraduate and graduate students pursuing research, study abroad, internships, and conference participation related to Armenian Studies. These opportunities help students deepen their academic engagement, gain international experience, and share their work with wider scholarly communities.

All travel must follow current guidelines, which are detailed in the LSA International Travel Guidelines.

Rolling Research & Travel Grants

Through the various student research & travel awards, CAS accepts applications on a rolling basis for student travel. These grants support field work, study abroad, internships, and participation in academic conferences focused on Armenian Studies. Conference travel awards are intended for students presenting Armenian Studies-related papers or serving as chairs/discussants at regional, national, or international conferences and are designed to supplement other U-M conference grants.

International Institute Summer Fellowships

CAS also offers Summer Research Grants for students whose projects relate to Armenian Studies. These competitive awards provide more substantial funding for research conducted during the summer months.
