Arab and Muslim American Studies Director and American Culture Professor Evelyn Alsultany was one of seven faculty members to receive the 2015 Harold R. Johnson Diversity Service Award from the Office of the Provost. Recipients of this award are recognized for their dedication to developing cultural and ethnic diversity at the University of Michigan. Professor Alsultany's research on Arabs and Muslims afte 9/11 has been "an important platform to discuss cultural, racial and ethnic diversity and has furthered interdisciplinary thinking."
