Katherine W. Phillips is the Paul Calello Professor of Leadership and Ethics and Senior Vice Dean, Columbia Business School. Her research addresses the questions of what is the value of diversity and what are the barriers that prevent society, organizations and especially work teams from capturing the knowledge, perspectives and unique backgrounds of every member? Phillips’ research, which has been featured in Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, the Journal of Applied Psychology, the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Organization Science, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. Phillips passed away on January 15, 2020.
