International Bipolar Foundation
This website has an education section, a resources section, and a list of programs. They promote strategies such as a hotline, living with bipolar book, bipolar FAQs, and stories of hope and recovery.
Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance
This organization “envisions wellness” for those living with mood disorders. They offer a range of support groups, do research and publish it on their website, and advocate for the rights of those struggling with mental illness to choose their own paths.

Mental Health America for support groups
MHA places a heavy emphasis on the importance of inclusion and peer support. They have several different programs for those struggling in place as well as training programs to become a supportive peer to others.
SAMHSA is a free, 24/7, year-round, confidential hotline designed for those who struggle with mental and/or substance use disorders. The hotline is intended to make referrals and provide information to those struggling.

American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
This resource provides a lengthy and detailed compilation of everything you need to know about various mental disorders. For bipolar, they have a list of extensive research, information to help the families of those suffering, clinical resources, and a list of pertinent books.
American Psychological Association
The APA is a well respected scientific and professional organization that includes links to databases and articles centered around psychology as well as news, publications, and informational pages. Their page on bipolar disorder describes the illness as well as well as providing links for what one can do and relevant news articles.

National Resource Center on Psychiatric Advance Directives
Gives useful state-by-state information about Psychiatric Advance Directives, which are legal documents that detail a person’s preferences for future mental health treatment and are later used when that person is experiencing a mental health crisis.
Brain and Behavior Research Foundation
The Brain and Behavior Research Foundation is the #1 non-governmental funderof mental health research grants. They have put $31 million towards bipolar disorder research since 1987. Committed to easing the suffering from mental illness by awarding grants that will lead to breakthroughs in research and knowledge.

National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)
Overview of Bipolar disorder, complete with treatment, diagnosis, risk factors, and signs and symptoms. NIMH generally has access to information about mental disorders and the latest mental health research.
Located in Ann Arbor; a place where participants can meet up twice a week to engage in group discussions, movement activities, get support, and seek a space to unite over similar challenges due to mental health. The goal is for people to openly talk about their struggles and feel more comfortable and casual being vulnerable around peers rather than a clinical setting.
