Lecturer Emerita, Music
About
A broadly based liberal arts musician, Ms. Heirich has integrated a centuries-old vocal teaching tradition with the more than 100-year-old teaching tradition of the FM Alexander Technique. This work has taken her around the world, working with voice and movement students and their teachers.
This 35-year focus has resulted in the well-received book: Voice and the Alexander Technique: Active explorations for speaking and singing published by MornumTime Press (2005).
Retiring from the Residential College at the end of 2003, she has continued teaching both voice and Alexander work in her home teaching studio. In January 2005 she opened a training course for potential teachers of the Alexander Technique: ATAA (Alexander Technique Ann Arbor), an intensive 3-year fulltime training
