Lecturer and Head, Russian Program
About
Alina Makin, MA in Applied Linguistics/TESOL, is a Lecturer IV (RC/Slavic Dept) and the Head of the Intensive Russian program. She is responsible for the overall administration of the program and teaches First- and Second-Year Intensive Russian, as well as Advanced Russian Readings seminars. She also coordinates RUSLAN Project, a service learning program in the local Russophone community. Her research interests include several areas of applied linguistics, second-language acquisition and pedagogy, the history and culture of food and cooking, and folktales in high and popular culture.
