About
Kimrey Anna Batts is an RC alum who has returned to Ann Arbor to teach Spanish in the same program she once learned the language in. After graduation with a degree in Cultural Anthropology in 2006, Kimrey moved abroad to Ecuador, where she held a variety of jobs before settling on work in the field of translation. She lived in Barcelona while pursuing a Master's in Literary Translation at the Universidad Pompeu Fabra, and she was most recently located in Chapala, Mexico.
Kimrey is an avid traveller with a fascination for language and cultures who has explored various regions in Mexico, Central and South America. She has translated a number of Spanish-speaking authors into English, and her area of specialization is contemporary Ecuadorian poetry.
