Carl Abrego (B.A., English Language and Literature, University of Michigan; B.S., Psychology, MPA, Eastern Michigan University) joined the Residential College as the Chief Administrator in January 2015, after three and a half years at the Kelsey Museum as the Administrative Specialist, and nine years as an Administrative Specialist—Healthcare at Michigan Medicine Orthotics and Prosthetics Center.
In partnering with the RC Director, Carl's responsibilities include the oversight of the department's budget and finances, human resources (staff, faculty and lecturer appointments, RC academic affairs, etc.), facilities management and liaising with EQ Housing, and other RC administration. He is responsible for all general, gift, designated, salary and research accounts, as well as supervision of all departmental administrative staff. He provides oversight support to programs for which the RC is the administrative home, such as Prison Creative Arts Project, Semester in Detroit, Telling It and Spanish Language Internship Program. Carl also serves as the liaison between the Department and the LSA / University, working within University and LSA policies.
