RC/LSA Alumna Kymberley Leggett named LSA Dean's Fellow

We are excited to announce that RC and LSA alumna Kymberley Leggett, '19 Sociology, has been named the 2019-2020 LSA Dean's Fellow. 

Throughout her four years at the RC and LSA, she worked as an admissions assistant and helped to recruit over 1000 students to the RC. She was on the student advisory board of UM’s Center for World Performance Studies, and she played clarinet and served as clarinet rank leader in the Michigan Marching Band. In addition to her major in Sociology, Kym minored in Music as well as in Community Action and Social Change, and she holds a certificate in Poverty Solutions, Action and Engagement. Additionally, she worked with the Prison Creative Arts project and facilitated workshops in Michigan and Brazil, and she interned with Clean Water Action as a community organizer. 

The Dean's Fellowship is awarded to a recent University of Michigan bachelor's degree graduate with career aspirations in higher education and/or educational administration. This fellowship offers an immersive experience that allows the Fellow to learn about and contribute to the behind-the-scenes work that the college does on a daily basis. This position will primarily work in the area of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Professional Development, and may also have projects in the areas of Faculty Academic Affairs, LSA Student Recruitment, Human Resources, Graduate Education, Special Projects given by the LSA Dean Curzan or LSA Chief of Staff, Undergraduate Education, and the LSA Opportunity Hub. The Fellow will have the opportunity to develop their professional skills through working closely with faculty and staff leaders in the college. Overall, this Fellowship is designed to give recent graduates an immersive role in the LSA administration, which will provide the knowledge and experience for the fellow to move onto other higher education or educational administration positions, or pursue graduate programs in these fields.
