Congraulations to Susan Rosegrant, RC Lecturer in Creative Writing and Literature, the First Year Seminar Program Head and Academic Advisor, who has been awarded the Unsung Champion in Advising Award from U-M's College of Literature, Science, and the Arts.
After graduating from the RC with a degree in Chinese language and literature, Susan returned to the RC in 2008. Since that time, she has taught the popular creative nonfiction, journalism, and memoir classes.
The Unsung Champion of Advising award recognizes individuals in LSA who are not designated formally as general or department advisors but, nevertheless, influence and guide students in positive ways.
Persons nominated for this award consistently serves as a positive influence over students in an informal mentoring capacity. They should have demonstrated excellence in providing judicious and informed advice to students, as well as have a record of sustained professional impact on students' academic and professional choices.
