Olga Lopez-Cotin nominated for Golden Apple Award
The nominating student wrote: "I took Olga's "Imágenes de la ciudad" class for my RC Spain Readings class sophomore fall. Not only was the class and Olga's teaching interesting and engaging but it was ultimately the reason I chose to study abroad in Spain this semester. Olga's priority is her students. Our class periods were discussions rather than opportunities for her to indoctrinate us. Certainly we learned real content about Latin American urban spaces as well, but her focus was on our individual development as students and thinkers. She went above and beyond to make herself available to students and to this day if I swing by her classroom I can always count on her being there to chat and offer insight into whatever is going on in my life at the time."
