That’s what Keegan Melstrom, Ph.D., from the University of Central Oklahoma is trying to figure out. A former University of Michigan undergraduate, Dr. Melstrom came back to Ann Arbor to take 3D scans of fossil teeth and skulls housed within the Museum of Natural History. He also gave a talk on his work on learning about the evolution of carnivores to herbavores during the Permian era, around 300-250 million years ago.
