Alessio Capobianco and James Saulsbury, students of U-M Museum of Paleontology U-M Earth and Environmental Sciences, received Rackham Predoctoral Fellowships from Rackham Graduate School.
Both were awarded in support of their 'dissertations that are unusually creative, ambitious, and impactful.'
Capobianco is a PhD student who studies the evolution of freshwater fishes under Matt Friedman, Director of the Museum of Paleontology.
Saulsbury is a PhD candidate who studies the evolution and biology of marine invertebrates, specifically crinoids, under Tomasz Baumiller, Curator of the Museum of Paleontology.
