Social Justice Film Series

Together with the Ann Arbor District Library, MCSP proudly presents the Fall 2017 lineup of social justice oriented films for public viewing

The Michigan Community Scholars Program and the Ann Arbor District Library are proud to present a series of films highlighting social justice issues and community change efforts. This annual film series is open to the public and aims to educate more people on issues happening in their very own communities. This year, MCSP and AADL present "The Hunting Ground" and "The Activists: War, Peace, and Politics in the Streets."

The first film, "The Hunting Ground," shines a light on the issue of sexual assault on college campuses across the country. U-M's Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center has partnered with the showing of this film and will be at the public viewing for small group discussions after the film. The film screening will be held on September 7 at 6pm .

The next film, "The Activists," showcases the grassroots efforts to stop the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and will feature a discussion with Michael Heaney, the film's producer and a U-M professor of Political Science. This film will be screened on September 14 at 6pm .

Both films are presented at the Ann Arbor District Library's Main Branch, located at 343 S. Fifth Avenue in Ann Arbor. We hope to see you in the audience.
