Join our small, diverse community Through living and working with students from a wealth of cultural, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds, MCSP students strive to model an ideal community.

Experience Academic Excellence MCSP provides a stimulating and intimate scholarly environment. You’ll be able to participate in small classes, study with top students, and work closely with faculty.

Make the World a Better Place Work for social change in areas such as health & wellness, environmental sustainability, youth & education, rural & urban poverty, and housing & food insecurity.

Gain Valuable Leadership Skills Many MCSP students go on to become campus, state, and national leaders. In MCSP, student leaders plan events, mentor students, facilitate cross-cultural discussions, and organize and lead service trips.

Prepare for a Meaningful Career MCSP students acquire the educational, work, and personal skills that employers look for and students need for successful careers, setting you apart from others.

What is MCSP?

The Michigan Community Scholars Program is a social justice oriented residential learning community made up of undergraduate students, faculty, and staff from varied backgrounds and identities. The community helps students navigate their transition to college, develops their intercultural competence and supports their wellbeing, connects them with meaningful community engagement opportunities, and equips them for lives of service to the common good in a diverse democracy.
