Explore the Hopwood Library
The Hopwood Library’s continuously updated collection includes books by Hopwood laureates, contemporary literary and popular fiction, poetry, drama, and literary nonfiction as well as current literary journals and books on creative writing craft and the writing life.
Browse the Hopwood Library catalog on Libib to search the collection and see which books are available for checkout. If there are recent publications you’d like to recommend as additions to the Hopwood Library, send your suggestions to hopwoodprogram@umich.edu.
Checking Out Books
The Hopwood Library is separate from the University of Michigan Library system. To check out books, you first need a Hopwood Library patron account. A staff member can help you create an account when you visit the Hopwood Room; all you need is your name and U-M email address.
Once you have an account, you can check out up to four books at a time using the Hopwood Library's iPad checkout system. Books may be checked out for up to four weeks and renewed as needed.
