“In Search of More than One Truth”: Mi Dor Le Dor Program’s Transmission of Polish Jewish Heritage

The Mi Dor Le Dor (MDLD) program is the flagship educational leadership development program of the Taube Center for the Renewal of Jewish Life in Poland Foundation. Dedicated to transmitting and teaching Polish-Jewish heritage, MDLD was the first program of its kind in Poland, allowing participants to explore and experiment with historical narratives. The program promotes Polish-Jewish literacy and strengthened identities, instilling cultural pride and preparing participants to assist in the year-round Taube Jewish Heritage Tour program as well as to lead Jewish communal, educational, and cultural institutions.

Marta Eichelberger-Jankowska is an MA student in experiential education and Jewish cultural arts at George Washington University. She is also senior historian intern at the Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies, United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Born in Warsaw, Ms. Eichelberger-Jankowska completed a preparatory program at the Rothberg International School and studied English literature at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. She holds a BA in Hebrew and Jewish Studies from University College London. In Warsaw, she worked as a Jewish educator and guide for the Taube Center for the Renewal of Jewish Life in Poland Foundation, POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, JCC Warsaw, Forum for Dialogue Foundation, Jewish Historical Institute, and the Lauder-Morasha School. From 2014-16, she served as the coordinator of the fourth and fifth editions of the Mi Dor Le Dor educational program at the Taube Center Foundation.
