The Copernicus Center for Polish Studies collaborates through signed agreements with the following cultural and research institutions:
The Robert J. Zajonc Institute of Social Studies (ISS) at the University of Warsaw
Since the partnership began in 2013, seven postdoctoral fellows from ISS have come to the University of Michigan to participate in the ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social Research.
Faculty from U-M have participated in symposia and jointly sponsored conferences.
POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews
In 2014, CCPS signed an agreement with POLIN to conduct research, organize conferences, and arrange opportunities for an exchange of students and visiting research scholars, as well as internships for undergraduate students. CCPS and the Weiser Center for Emerging Democracies organized a conference at POLIN in May 2016 titled “The Contemporary Interpretation of Historical Legacies in East Central Europe.” CCPS has hosted POLIN’s director and curator of the core exhibition for public lectures and meetings with faculty and students at U-M.
Adam Mickiewicz Institute and culture.pl
CCPS and the University of Michigan are part of the Warsaw-based Adam Mickiewicz Institute’s Campus Project, one of five U.S. universities that enjoys the benefits of IAM’s cultural programming from Poland. Under this partnership, CCPS and culture.pl have screened experimental animated films at the Ann Arbor Film Festival, presented programming on Bruno Schulz, presented a lecture and performance by avant-garde jazz great Tomasz Stańko, collaborated on a historic photo exhibition of Zakopane, and collaborated on artist residencies of folk musicians the Janusz Prusinowski Kompania and famed alternative theater company Theatre of the Eighth Day (Teatr Ósmego Dnia).
