“Coming to the University of Michigan, I knew I wanted to study international relations to some degree. I was majoring in Business and I wanted to supplement that education with something that would push me to consider the world in other ways. I was able to combine my interests and take fascinating classes that taught me so much. My favorite part of the International Studies minor were the intimate discussion based classes. I loved meaningfully connecting with my peers and professors. The classroom (and Zoom Room!) was always a receptive space that fostered invaluable conversations. Additionally, I always sought to create synergies between my International Studies education and Business major. My most treasured learning moments are of the times I was able to draw from one discipline and connect it to the other.
The summer after my first year, I participated in a CGIS study abroad program in Salamanca, Spain. When I think back to that summer, I am so grateful to have been granted that opportunity. Immersing myself in Spain and practicing the language really allowed me to live the culture and explore an unknown space while also learning about myself. It was a stepping stone for how I wanted to continue to challenge myself in new spaces. After graduation, I will be working in Investment Banking with hopes to interact globally.
I am so appreciative of my time at the University of Michigan. Go Blue!”
