Position Description

• Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct / refine market research for digital platform solutions serving key engineering fields
  • Define target audience/markets, estimate market size, research market trends
  • Identify pain points, opportunities, and needs by target audience
  • Research competitions - solution offerings, target audience, pricing, and strengths / weaknesses
• Communications
  • Create / help refine key marketing materials - executive summary of the business, pitch deck speaking points
  • Develop messaging by target audience / customer groups
• Additional responsibilities: as assigned

Desired Qualifications

• Excellent analytical and writing skills
• Understanding of digital / cloud technology and market trends in the engineering collaboration space
• Ability to handle ambiguity, self-directed, open to feedback, and willingness to take an iterative approach
• Prior start-up marketing experience desired

  • Knowledge in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React is required. It has a strong technology focus.

Position Description

• The primary task is to work as teaching assistants, but interns are expected to talk to the students outside of classes and help them become familiar with the English language
• Activities are mostly on campus, but interns may be asked to join some college activities such as a freshmen welcome event

Desired Qualifications

• Basic Japanese language proficiency for using public transportation systems and for shopping is necessary
• Desire / Interest to teach English language to non-English speaking students is necessary
• An interest in Japanese culture, arts and architecture is desirable
• No citizenship requirements

Position Description

This position presents a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial individual to play a central role in pioneering an innovative investment approach in Japan. You'll work closely with a seasoned founding team with blue-chip backgrounds in investment banking, management consulting, hedge fund management, and private equity investment.

As an internship analyst, you will play a key role in supporting investment activities and will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth data analysis to support investment decision-making processes.
• Contribute to the preparation of investment memorandums and financial models.
• Support the overall workflow of the investment team through various tasks and initiatives.
• Collaborate with team members to conduct market research and industry analysis.
• Assist in monitoring and evaluating the performance of portfolio companies.

Desired Qualifications

• Possess strong communication and presentation skills in varied contexts (e.g. you will be required to interface with both large domestic financial institutions as well as SME owners and entrepreneurs).
• Be comfortable with uncertainty with a “can do” attitude when faced with problems.
• Bachelor's degree in a numerical field such as Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or Physics.
• Advanced degree (Master's or MBA) is preferred.
• Strong interests in financial analysis, modeling, and valuation techniques.
• High Business level English; native or high business-level proficiency in Japanese.

Internship Dates

• 40 hours/week, June 1 to July 31 (dates are flexible)

Position Description

• Translate written Japanese to English
• Meeting regularly with supervisors to edit and refine translations (once per week)
• Format translations for web upload and publishing according to style guides
• Some web page development as needed, and if able

Desired Qualifications

• Japanese proficiency (JLPT N2)
• Near native English proficiency, and excellent writing skills
• Attention to detail
• Interest in Japan, NPOs, and humanitarian work
• Self-starter able to work independently with assignment-based work
• Web development experience desired, but not required (e.g. Wordpress)
