Azad and Margaret Hogikyan Library Collection Opening and Lecture | A World in a Collection of Books

Just as the universe in Proust’s cup of tea, the Hogikyan collection represents much more than a few hundred volumes. Professor Libaridian will talk about the comparison to highlight the significance of this special project.

About the Azad and Margaret Hogikyan Collection: the University of Michigan Library recently acquired the Azad and Margaret Hogikyan Armenian Studies Collection. The gift of 483 Armenian Studies titles, originally acquired and maintained by Azad and Margaret Hogikyan, was donated by their four sons: Robert, Edward, John and Norman.  The Hogikyan family, in collaboration with the Armenian Studies Program, also provided funding to build and finish the bookcase that will house these texts. The lovely oak bookcase is now in place inside the Hatcher Gallery, just beside the Lab door. As titles are cataloged, they will be installed in the bookcase for patron use.
