 Take one Introductory Psychology Course

  • PSYC 200: Introduction to Psychology transfers as PSYCH 111: Introduction to Psychology for 4 credits

  Take one Statistics Course. Complete one of the courses listed below

  • STAT 215: Introduction to Probability and Statistics transfers as STATS 250: Introduction to Statistics and Data Analysis for 4 credits
  • STAT 170: Introduction to Statistics transfers as STATS 101X Departmental for 4 credits
    • To receive credit for the statistics requirement for STAT 170 you will have to complete an additional statistics tutorial. Go to Psych Department's website for more information.

 Take one Biopsychology/Cognitive Breadth Group course.

  • PSYC 209: Cognitive Psychology transfers as PSYCH 240: Introduction to Cognitive Psychology for 3 credits

 Take one Developmental/Psychopathology Breadth Group Course. Complete one of the courses listed below.

  • PSYC 205: Human Growth and Development  transfers as PSYCH 250: Introduction to Developmental Psychology for 3 credits
  • PSYC 250: Abnormal Psychology  transfers as PSYCH 270: Introduction to Psychopathology for 3 credits

 Take one Social/Personality/Gender Breadth Group Course. Complete one of the courses listed below.

  • PSYC 203: Social Psychology transfers as PSYCH 280: Introduction to Social Psychology for 3 credits
  • PSYC 202: Psychology of Personality transfers as PSYCH 290: Introduction to Personality Psychology for 3 credits

Number of credits that you will have to complete after transfer: 24

  • 2 lab classes (6 credits)
  • Upper level elective credit (18 credits)

Completing General Degree Requirements as a Psychology Major

  • Quantitative Reasoning: STAT 170 transfers as STATS 101X Departmental and STAT 215 transfers as STATS 250. Both classes fulfill the QR requirement.  You will not have to take an additional QR courses outside of the requirements for the major.
  • Courses that transfer with the U-M subject PSYCH cannot be used for Area Distribution for psychology majors. Therefore LCC's PSYC 200, 202, 203, 205, 221, 222, 250 can't be used to fulfill social science distribution as they are listed on the General Degree Requirement Transfer Guide.
