Take one Introductory Psychology Course

  • PSYC 201: Introduction to Psychology or HONR 121: Honors Introduction to Psychology transfers as PSYCH 111: Introduction to Psychology for 3 credits

  Take one Statistics Course

  • BUSA 216: Business Statistics or MATH 216: Introduction to Statistics transfer as STATS 201X Departmental for 3 credits
    • To receive credit for the statistics requirement for MTH 123 you will have to complete an additional statistics tutorial. Go to Psych Department's website for more information.

  Take one Developmental/Psychopathology Breadth Group Course. Complete one of the courses listed below.

  • HONR 203: Honors Human Development  transfers as PSYCH 250: Introduction to Developmental Psychology for 3 credits
  • PSYC 231: Abnormal Psychology and HONR 231: Honors Abnormal Psychology transfer as PSYCH 270: Introduction to Psychopathology for 3 credits

 Take one Social/Personality/Gender Breadth Group Course.

  • PSYC 206: Social Psychology transfers as PSYCH 280: Introduction to Social Psychology for 3 credits

Number of credits that you will have to complete after transfer: 26 

  • One class from the Biopsychology/Cognitive Breadth Group (4 credits)
  • 2 lab classes (6 credits)
  • Upper level elective credit (16 credits)

Completing General Degree Requirements as a Psychology Major

  • Quantitative Reasoning: MATH 216 and BUSA 216 transfer as STATS 201X Departmental and either will fulfill the QR requirement.  You will not have to take an additional QR courses outside of the requirements for the major.
  • Courses that transfer with the U-M subject PSYCH cannot be used for Area Distribution for psychology majors. Therefore LMC's PSYC 201, 203, 204, 205, 206, 230, 231, 250 can't be used to fulfill social science distribution as they are listed on the General Degree Requirement Transfer Guide.
