  • PSY 101: General Psychology or PSY 111: Honors General Psychology transfer as PSYCH 111: Introduction to Psychology for 4 credits

  Take one Statistics Course

  • MTH 211: Introduction to Statistics transfers as STATS 201X Departmental for 3 credits
    • To receive credit for the statistics requirement for MTH 123 you will have to complete an additional statistics tutorial. Go to Psych Department's website for more information.

  Take one Developmental/Psychopathology Breadth Group Course. Complete one of the courses listed below.

  • PSY 210: Lifespan Development  transfers as PSYCH 250: Introduction to Developmental Psychology for 3 credits
  • PSY 295: Abnormal Psychology  transfers as PSYCH 270: Introduction to Psychopathology for 3 credits

 Take one Social/Personality/Gender Breadth Group Course. Complete one of the courses listed below.

  • PSY 204: Social Psychology transfers as PSYCH 280: Introduction to Social Psychology for 3 credits
  • PSY 225: Psychology of Personality transfers as PSYCH 290: Introduction to Personality Psychology

Number of credits that you will have to complete after transfer: 26 

  • One class from the Biopsychology/Cognitive Breadth Group (4 credits)
  • 2 lab classes (6 credits)
  • Upper level elective credit (16 credits)

Completing General Degree Requirements as a Psychology Major

  • Quantitative Reasoning: MTH 211 transfers as STATS 201X Departmental and fulfills the QR requirement.  You will not have to take an additional QR courses outside of the requirements for the major.
  • Courses that transfer with the U-M subject PSYCH cannot be used for Area Distribution for psychology majors. Therefore Gogebic's PSY 101, 111, 202, 204, 210, 225, 231, 295 can't be used to fulfill social science distribution as they are listed on the General Degree Requirement Transfer Guide.
